You can enjoy your hydrangea in its pot outdoors for the rest of our warmer months. Water roughly once a week and ensure it is never left sitting in water. It will be happy in full sun, but partial is best.
As autumn approaches and the plant becomes dormant loosing all its leaves, you can plant it straight into your garden or into a larger clay pot outdoors. Choose a spot where your hydrangea can reach its full size of at least 4ft diameter without pruning. Hydrangeas are almost impossible to keep pruned to a smaller size than they ultimately wish to grow.
Plant your hydrangea in a well-drained soil at roughly the same depth as it was in your pot.
It is very easy to dry hydrangea flowers. If done with care and dried slowly in a normal environment they will retain some of their colour. They look beautiful displayed in vintage earthenware bottles, which you can pick up from most antique fairs.
