It is traditionally a wetland plant and requires a lot of water. Water frequently, up to five times per week. If you're going away for the weekend, give your plant a good drenching. You can stand the pot in a little water if you go away for longer periods of time.

Place your pot in a shaded spot indoors, normal room temperature is fine. If you would like, you can keep your plant outdoors on a shaded terrace during our warmer months - they look wonderful as outdoor table centre pieces.

Occasionally the very odd spiral leaf will turn brown, simply snip this off at the base with a pair of scissors. New leaves will appear in time.
