DESIGN PROCESS & INSPIRATION

The V&A has a comprehensive collection of botanical illustrations, some of them centuries old, housed in the archive and covering a wide variety of artistic styles, techniques and approaches. Inspired by the riches of the archive, we celebrate the beauty of the natural world with this range of high quality flora and foliage.

The design process has taken just over a year, with a passionate team sharing ideas and knowledge.  Combining the V&A's botanical illustrations with our experience of flowers and down to earth approach, the first collection includes a contrasting combination of wild meadow flowers and tropical stems, in light tones, and produced with an unbelievable sense of realism and detail.
